Boxing Day

Oh boy... Boxing Day... Scarborough Town Centre... Scary..
lots of, and I mean, lots of people. I figure the entire population on Calgary was probably there ;)
pushing and shoving and kids and people and cold...yech...and no great deals either.. it was scary.
I didn't buy anything, it's interesting when you have no room in a bag for stuff... you don't buy nutthin.

There was an earthquake that killed over 10,000 people in South Asia. I can't even imagine the horror and pain that must be sweeping that area now. Can you imagine, overnight having 10,000 people, dead. Some people while they slept, no warning, just tidal waves. Something like in The Day After Tomorrow. It's not right... and the media is more concerned with snow in Canada and the US...gimme a break.

k, I'm off to bed... got some Halifax and xmas updates for you later...

Casino?

What a nice sunny day... finally... :)
Went to the Casino Nova Scotia, even got a Players Club Card...woohoo...
played some pretty entertaining blackjack, couple of Americans at the table were doubling down on 14's and 15's lots of fun.. won $65 bux... walked away.. not bad for an hours work.

Off to Toronto on Friday, hangin with my cousins for xmas, trying to see if I can get my sister out for the day as well, it'll be great to have everybody back together for the day.

aiight, I'm out.

Wow, I'm unemployed...

WOW what a crazy last few days. Packing until 3am, or 5:30am. Rushing to get everything done and get to the airport on time. I made it!

Here's the bag

It was busy busy wrapping things up, was even at work late on my last day.. crazy.. played a couple practical jokes on a few people as I left (you know who you are) and said my see you laters... it's hard to beleive that it's all over. However, wrapping everything up was not as hard/difficult as I though, all of this seems very surreal, almost like it's not happening to me.

So here I am in not so sunny Halifax. Got in ok, the flight was interesting. Had the cutest little 1 year old next to me with her mom ... Emma & Rachel, I wanted to ask if the husbands name was Ross ;) then there was the annoying brat on the other side, grr... but overall a plane full of screaming kids didn't seem to bother me that much.
So far so good, didn't get up until 2:30 in the afternoon today... this is great.. mind you, I did get asked today what I do, if I'm in school or not.. I just had to take the opportunity to reply "Actually... I'm unemployed!" it felt kida strange but good at the same time :)

I still need to post a lot of info and pics, will get that up at some point as soon as I get a few moments. luckily the laptop that's at the place i'm staying has a USB port ( and WIN98! )

It's Done!

I finally bit the bullet and bought the international tickets for the trip! I'm excited but the reality of what's happening is finally kicking in. Had to go and pick up the travel insurance (not cheap) and my international drivers license and all the other fun pre trip stuff. I never realized that there was so much prep work that has to be done...

Here's the city list

Seattle, London, Nairobi, Dubai, Australia, Thailand, Moscow

I'll post the itinerary dates soon.

:)

So much to share, not enough time.....

So there's been a lot of interesting things going on...

I can't wait to get away from this lovely weather we are having .. from -12 to -24 Degrees Celcius, I am really looking forward to getting out of here... mind you Halifax isn't the best place to go to get away from the cold :)

it's been super hectic at work, I got into a car accident on Monday

(I'm ok.. my wallet and the car... are not.), been having a few lunches / dinners with people before I take off, got the Long View xmas party this weekend in Kananaskis (one hell of a company, one hell of a party) I still have to pack... just so overwhelmed. Less than 8 days left though :) :) :)

Oh and I almost forgot, someone(s) did an excellent job of Gift Wrapping Roberts office while he was in Hawaii... this is very impressive attention to detail. There's no way any men were involved in the wrapping, it was just done so well.

Overwhelmed

Wow, I really don't know what to say.

I sent all the wonderful people that I have met in my years at EnCana and I must say I am at a loss for words on the response... all of the wonderful and kind things that were said was truly touching...

Thank you to everybody that sent me a personalized response, it means the world to me, and I will do my best to send you all individual replies.
